ABOUT FARHAN

Farhan is a seasoned business & development professional who has a clear focus on private sector engagement & development, public-private partnerships, value chain management, supply chain management (procurement, distribution and inventory management) in sustainable development outcomes. Led winning teams and impact interventions during 09 years of career in the development and private sectors of Bangladesh. Worked in the private sector of Bangladesh for over 03 years before entering the development space in 2015. Developed skills in public and private sector development & engagement, market systems development (MSD)/M4P, social entrepreneurship & enterprise development, value chain management, supply chain management, inclusive business, public policy analysis, advocacy, legal & regulatory reformation, political economy analysis, e-Governance, fiscal policy and taxation, sustainability, leadership and policies, business process re-engineering, project management, training design and delivery, USAID quarterly and yearly report and work plan design and development, social entrepreneurship & enterprise development, inclusive business and project management.

Farhan has 09 years of full-time proven experience & expertise, armed with the knowledge gathered from the topnotch educational & professional institutions of Bangladesh. He has experienced in INGOs, social enterprises, LNGOs and MNCs which demand strong professional, organizational, technical and interpersonal skills with proficient use of technology and standard office software programs to enhance efficiencies in a fast-paced environment and also require the ability to prioritize and execute tasks accurately and efficiently –

and commitment to professional excellence. In addition to his professional experiences, he has a solid educational background. He completed Master of Public Policy and Leadership from East Delta University. He completed MiniMasters in Global Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University – W. P. Carey School of Business and MBA from IBA, Jahangirnagar University. He also completed Modular Learning System in Supply Chain Management (MLS-SCM) under ITC- UNCTAD/ WTO, Geneva, Switzerland, Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA) from ISCEA, USA and Procurement and SCM of Pharmaceutical Products from UNDP.

Farhan voluntarily works with different development organizations and projects. At present, he is the Treasurer of a national-level NGO and an honorable advisor of another charity foundation. These two organizations work to achieve the SDG-01, 02, 04, 05 and 08 in the slum of Dhaka city and displaced Rohingya community in Cox’s Bazar. He was also one of the core team members who starting from scratch to the growth of a social enterprise that already crossed the break-even and also a pivotal part of ensuring 500 women micro-entrepreneurs profitability and sustainability through market systems development (MSD)/ making markets work for the poor (M4P) and private sector development and engagement. At present, those women entrepreneurs are earning from $60-$120 per month.
